Well 24 hour reception is in place so guests can arrive 24 hours a day. Because we were in an 8 bed dorm it meant it was slowly filled throughout the night. When 6am came around we were shattered. We dragged our bags out the room and got dressed in the corridor. Outside it was still dark so for a split second we contemplated getting a taxi. Instead of a taxi we released the straps on the backpack, put it on our backs and hiked up the hill towards the train station. Things went much more smoothly this time. We got a ticket no problemo. It wasn't that busy on the train so their was no hassle plus it helped that we knew where we were going and what to look out for. The first thing we had to do when we arrived at the bus terminal was check in and get our bus tickets. It's a big bus terminal with so many different bus companies. Each have a booth with their logo above, all next to each other, around the building, lining the walls. We found it surprisingly easy to find the booth which meant we had 45mins to get something to eat. Lee passed me some money and took a seat with the bags. On my way for breakfast I walked past a jewellery shop, all costume jewellery but really cheap! I got some lovely earrings and a headband. I came back to lee with a bottle of coke and a bottle of water. Lee wasn't impressed when I didn't have food (not even after i showed him my bargain earrings) so I had to go off again. A packet of biscuits and a crunch bar later I was back in the good books.
We got on the bus without any dramas and headed on the 6 hour journey to Paraty. There were a couple of annoying things on the journey. Firstly my book I'm reading has come to an end. Apparently the next book of the series isn't going to be released until November?! Tut!
And the couple in front decided to fully recline their seat into a lying down position (on a daytime bus) and smooch with big wet soppy kisses- which btw is one of my biggest dislikes in the world). Other than those annoyances it was pretty uneventful.
