Hello,
Josie -- thanks for the advice, i decided to take the plunge and have an appointment with a dentist here in Bangkok in about half an hour, not scary at all honest. On the pluss side, my check up is costing me 200 B about 1 pound fifty and if i need any work its 800B!!! I'm sure i'll keep you up dated.
Well yesterday i had a very chilled out day, just walking around the Ko Shan Rd and relaxing in my hotel. Even went for a thai massage and an eyebrow wax!!! all together it cost me about 3 quid. not bad for an hours massage!!! Emma-- Yup it is quite brutal but i think they take it easy on the foreigners though, mind you i was in a biut of pain when the woman lifted me up on her feet!!!! Good though!
This morning i got up nice and early to clean up my struff since i wil be sharing the roiom once i meet the group tonight, i headed to reception to ask them about dentists, went and made an appointment and then headed to the Grand Palace and Emerald Budda.
Really very spectacular, all the buildings are so ornate and packed with glittery stones and tiles. Truely beautiful!!!! The temple of the emerald budda is the most spectacular though, competes with the vatican but in a very different style as you can imagine. The Budda itself is tiny and made of Jade but the guy who found it thought it was made of emeralds, hence the name. It wears a nice costume that is changed with the seasons in a ceremony the king watches over, its actually really small but sits high up on this beautifull complicated thrown.
I just got back from there, some of it was closed of for a ceremony today, but there aren't many temples your allowed in anyway so i was only there an hour or so, managed to catch a tuk tuk back. Once i've been to the dentist i'll be heading for some pad thai (assuming i can eat) and then spending the day in the pool i think untill my meeting tonight at 5.30.
Well i'm gonna go to the dentist, heading to Wat Phoo tomorrow the house of the MASSIVE reclining Budda and for a trip on a long boat around the canals before catching the overnight train to the north of thailand Chang Mai.
Hope everyone is well!!!!!!!!!
