November 13th 2010 --- Sydney (Day 2)
Today was our first full day in Sydney.I woke up fairly early, but decided to let Allie have a bit of a sleep in.We finally were up and going by around 11am.Our hostel wasn't too far from the Paddy's market, so we went for a stroll through the upper section of the mall and then hit the market stalls below.Man, it's easy to waste time here!We spent the entire afternoon wandering in and out of shops taking care of our souvenirs and Christmas pressies.Around 5pm, we headed back to the hostel to ditch our purchases.
We then strolled down toward the harbour front to check out the sunset over the Opera House and Sydney Bridge. We completely lost track of time and found ourselves eating dinner at 9pm.We ate at a tavern just off of George Street and I had such a manly meal... a full rack of ribs, wedges and topped off with a Heineken and chocolate cheesecake! After dinner, we played some "pokies" just so that I could say I did it!Both Allie and I had no idea how to play either of the games and were quickly finished with out 100 credits!Gotta love 1 cent games! After we hit up the "Scary Canary" for a few hours. We arrived pretty late in the evening, so most people were feeling pretty good!Tonight was the night of trickery!Someone asked what I did for a living, and I may have told him I was a truck driver.I also spoke fluent French... well at least enough French to convince a Frenchman that I was from France!!!I reckon the loud music and a few drinks on his end had something to do with him believing me!
