Wed Oct 12th 2010 --- Beach Bonanza!

Today was my last day with my family before they begin to make their way to Brisbane where they will be flying home from.We spent the day visiting the beaches around Ballina.Simon was longing to soak up some infamous Aussie sun and surf, but with the unseasonal weather we have been experiencing he has had no such luck so far on his trip.

Today was not much different!Although it wasn't raining and was relatively warm (around 23̊C), we didn't go for a swim, instead we admired the beauty of the beaches and played around like rambunctious children (video available for those lucky readers!)

We began our beach exploration at Main Beach and Lighthouse Beach, followed by Shelly Beach, Lennox (where we had lunch) and finally Broken Head.I reckon Broken Head was my favourite as it was the least commercialized and was actually protected as a marine park.

In the evening we returned to Lismore where Maree had prepared a traditional Aussie dinner--- lamb and the fixings with Pavlova for dessert!The rest of the evening was spent finalizing the luggage situation (Mom and dad took a suitcase of mine home for me! Thanks!) and spending some quality time as a family for one last night.
