Left Naverette at 8 ish this morning and have had a relatively easy 17km walk to Najera a pretty town by a river. We walked through vineyards most of the day and loved seeing snow on the mountains behind the town. Left Viana and spent all day walking through Logrono a big city which was very hard on the feet. We walked 23km today on tarmac virtually all the way and feet were on fire so we dunked them in a lake - heaven see pic. Left 0800 in cool cloudy conditions having booked an old Palacio hotel in medieval village of Viana 20km away. Fairly uneventful day as having got into a routine - we just walk for 1-2 hours stop for 15mins stretch off a little, eat some fruit or baguette and then move on. After the struggles of yesterday we happily left Mrs Overalls establishment at 0715 not sure how the day would go. We were very tired and expecting a tough walk but it turned out to be quite good helped by cloud cover keeping it cool. Day 6 on the camino has been our hardest yet. The good news is we have now walked over 100km since we started. Only one blister to report on Sally little toe for which I have carried out a highly technical operation. So far the patient seems happy with the results.
