Today we both woke up early and decided we would just get up and go!
It was pretty easy to find the bus stop just outside where we could get on a bus that would take us straight to Vinpearl land.
When we arrived we went through the ticket control where we were both given a voucher to use for food and drinks worth 150000 dong, about £5. We thought this was quite a nice surprise until we realised it was actually compensation for the fact that the water park, which was our main reason for coming, was being renovated and therefore was closed!
We started the day by getting to the island, which involves a 15 minute cable car ride across the ocean. This was amazing and gave you incredible views of the mainland and the area around. When we arrived on the other side we were greeted by a guy in a tuxedo who was giving all the women roses in honour of international women's day! This was a lovely idea, although by the time we left mine was looking a bit battered and sorry for itself!
We started by heading to the aquarium. This was pretty cool, especially as we were there when the divers were in the main tanks for feeding time! It wasn't a massive aquarium but there was enough to see to keep us in there for a while!
Our plan after this was to spend the rest of the day in the water park, and it was at this point that we realised it was closed! We sat and had a drink to rethink our plan. It was coming up 11am and I had seen a sign about a mermaid show in the aquarium which would be starting soon. We headed back in and found a spot in front of the main tank where these two women in mermaid tails and swimming goggles swam around for ten minutes! It was quite cheesy but still quite interesting to watch!
After this we headed back to the part of the park which has all the amusement rides. We started by going into the games centre, which was a giant arcade where all the games were free to use! We spent a while in there before heading out to check out the toboggan ride. We stood in the queue for over an hour but it was worth it! It was huge and took four minutes to pull you to the top where the downward part curved and tilted like a rollercoaster while giving you incredible views.
At this point it was half 1 and we were both pretty hungry so we found the nearest food place to spend our vouchers! We took our time figuring out the best way to maximise our voucher, leaving both of us very full! Despite this we decided to go and check out the other rides!
We went on a rollercoaster, a thing that went up and down and a thing that went round and round. None of them went very fast and was particularly exciting, but it was still fun!
Having done pretty much everything we headed back in the cable car to spend a couple of hours on the beach.
Shane has booked to go diving tomorrow, so we are having another quiet and early one as he is being picked up at 7.30 in the morning.
