We had planned a quiet last night in Bangkok before travelling today, but it was the Kings birthday celebrations and we ended up getting caught up with that!
We spent the night in one of the bars where they all lit candles and sang the national anthem. Then there were two different firework displays which were really good!
We moved bars for a bit but there was an incident with a guy who just came out of nowhere bleeding from the head. Shane helped to get him to the police station down the road and then we went back to the first bar again!
At this point it was about half 11 and we decided to head back to get some sleep. This morning I woke up and knew I shouldn't have drunk as much as I did and should have had more sleep. We checked out of the Rikka and checked in for our transfer to Koh Tao. Feeling as ill as I did the bus journey was horrible and I ended up really sick, but after this and some sleep I felt better. Six hours later we arrived at the pier for the two hour ferry. The water was really rough and it was not a nice journey but I slept most of it. Finally we arrived at Koh Tao! It is so beautiful here with the beaches. We had a bit of a wander and then got ready for Shane to have his induction before starting his diving tomorrow. They have a buffet meal tonight so think we will hang around for that and try and get the quiet night we have been talking about since we got here!
