We are now in Vietnam we arrived in style as took a flight from Laos and got here in an hour and 20 mins so much better than on a long bus for hours. Took a minibus from the airport to Hanoi and got dumped of somewhere we had no clue as they try to just drop you off any location that suites them not the actual place you paid to be. We were pounced on straight away and with people wanting you to stay at there hotel so we ended up in a rather nice hotel far higher standerds than we've been used to lately.We got the cost down to $15 a night which was a bit pricey but it was only for one night and worth the hot water shower that we'd missed for how long. We booked up for a 2days and 1 night trip to Halong Bay, so next morning up early and off on our trip shame we didn't get to make the most of the comfort of the hotel. The trip To halong bay was on a boat and the location was beautiful, it was just a shame that the food we had included on the trip for lunch and dinner wasn't as great as the scenery. rice, rice and some more rice oh and cucumber and a couple of chips between 6 describes it preety well. We stopped off and wondered around a couple of caves then back on boat for some sunbathing on top deck.Later some kayaking onthe sea which was fun, then back for our yummy dinner! The room we were given to stay in on the boat was bad no fan, smelly sheets and music blarring out from the crews stero above. Next day just sat on the deck while we sailed back, met some really nice people on trip though as was all complaing and thinking the same about the bad organistionof the whole trip.Two English girls from London we are staying with for a few days as doing same journey. Leaving tonight onto Hoi an on a sleeper bus.
