We are still in Cairns haven't done much here as its so expensive got a shock after being in Asia and used to there prices. Cairns is lovely most days its been hot and sunny and we spent days sunbathing along the sea front. Whilst sleeping off our hangovers as its a place to go out drinking. First night we arrived we were talked into going on a party bus night that took us around town to loads of different bars and clubs. It was good fun and learnt where all the bars were. Even though you didn't really need to get on the bus as you could walk quicker to the next stop rather than trying to get 210 people on a bus down the road. One night a couple of us all bought some food and had a barbque alonge the esplanaed. This was our first time trying kangaroo it was yummy definatley be eating that again. After sat by the sea and played some drinking games with Aussies goon wine, if you can call it wine. This was another first of many nights drinking this cheap narsty drink.

We have done some other activities whilst we've been in Cairns we signed up to do white water rafting. After a very early morning start we arrived in Tully got kitted out in our crash helmets and given our paddles. Then away we went down the river it was scary at time but good fun. The water was freezing as we found out quite frequently. About half way down the river we all got out the rafts and had to get in the river and swim the rapids! The power of the water pushe dyou under and down alonge the river then shooting you out whilst surfacing. As you struggled to swim to the side to get out. Liz's face was a picture after, as our friend Richard said i don't think she liked that! After that liz decided to remain in the raft when we had the chance to jump off the rocks into the river. The rest of the rafting was great we had some very close calls where we nearly turned the whole raft. Liz and I were gripping on tight to the ropes in the raft screaming out scared of falling out the raft. We survived though and was exhausted after our action packed day.
