Written by Liz. I had more time in Queenstown then Lauren so this is why im writting a seperate blog as i did different things. i spent my first day in Queenstown going on the luge which is basically a go kart without an engine on a toboggan run. i went with some people off the magic bus. it was so much fun but you do become really competitive and have no regard for your safety but a wicked way to spend the afternoon. the next day i went to Milford Sound which was amazing, the scenery was unbelievable. we saw the mirror lakes and went for a boat trip on the sound. we had dolphins swimming alongside the boat. it was lucky i went when i did because later on in the week the weather turned and the road was closed. it was a long day but definitely worth it.
the next day my skiing begun. ive never skied before in my life so i was quite nervous as i am quite clumsy. i went to Coronet Peak for all three of my days skiing. on my first day i fell over a few times but picked up the basics. on the second day i had a bad afternoon so i stopped because i didnt want to be put off of skiing. luckily on my final day of skiing i had a really good instructor, i still fell over but not as much. i did do a classic when i stopped for lunch by not being able to stop and skied straight into an equipment rack and not being able to get up. i nearly died laughing but a lady put down her child to help me. in the afternoon we went on the chairlift onto the big easy which is the beginner run. on my final go i managed to make it down and only fell over twice which was good for me. id definitely go skiing again because it was so much fun.
that evening we all went to Fergburger as we thought we deserved a treat. the burgers are fantastic. afterwards we did our own pub crawl exploring the nightlife as up to then had only been to a couple of places so it was a good evening.
on the Thursday i had a lazy day because i was aching all over from the skiing, i hurt in places i didnt know i had so i just spent time with people in my room.
i spent my last day in Queenstown having an adrenelin day. i spent the morning jumping out of a plane at 15,000ft which was excellent, 65 seconds of freefall. then in the afternoon i did the Nevis bungy jump which is 134 metres and the tallest in New Zealand. i had a lot of fun in Queenstown especially in the snow. i would recommend to anyone
