Lauren & Justins Adventure
Hiya guys, well we have eventually found another internet cafe and just thought we would update you on our progress. We left Bangkok early morning (6ish) and took a bus to the floating market. We took a long tail boat ride along the canals to get to the floating market, which consists of a lot of market stalls that can only be accessed by a boat punted along by a local. From there we carried on to see the bridge over the River Kwai, there was a great museum which explained about the history and conditions of the camp and was worth the visit, we also saw the actually bridge, which is now a very touristy area, we walked across the bridge, which is fully of gaps and even has train running across it while people cross, health and safety is not a priority here! We also tried an unknown fruit that tasted of rotting feet and the taste lasted for hours - ummmmm, nice!
From there we took a night train for 9 hours, a bus journey and a ferry trip to travel to Ko Pan Yang (long way). Once we arrived on the island we then had an hours ride on a pickup truck through the jungle, which was ace.
We spent four days on the island, which was beautiful. The first day we went on a boat trip snorkeling, sea sickness all round, except for Rob, Paul and Justin who are hardy and saw a lot of beautiful fish and marine life. The second day we meet the Elephants and took a ride on Peter (how Thai!), really good fun!! The rest of the time was chilling out and partying (check out Justin and his bucket of Rum I am sure his eyes are bulging).
We are now in Malaysia and we up date you with all our news very soon, love to you all L&J xxxxx
