After breakfast today, we headed into Mansfield and visited the information centre to pick up a map of the area, then parked up at the library so we could use the wifi to get online. However, when we arrived we found that it was closed on Mondays (?) We'd walked past an internet café a few days ago so headed there…also closed on Mondays! We decided that we obviously weren't meant to go online today, so we'll go back to the library tomorrow.
After a quick stop at a café for coffee, we drove towards Mount Buller Alpine Village, which is a busy ski resort in the winter (which is 'our' summer!) After a very windy drive up the mountain, we arrived to find the resort almost deserted. There were a lot of workmen there, getting building work done during the low season, but not many other people. Luckily, one of the cafes was open so we stopped there for more refreshments! Before heading back down the mountain, we took some photos of the stunning view and I took some good photos using the panoramic feature on Mam and Dad's camera!
We then headed back to Mansfield and ate lunch at a restaurant called The Deck, up on their roof terrace. The food was amazing, one of the best meals we've had in Oz…mostly. Dad and I really enjoyed our pork belly squares, but unfortunately, Dave's portion of beef noodles was a bit small for a growing boy like him!
After a stop at the supermarket for supplies, we headed back to the resort and got changed to go for a swim. The spa was closed for a few days while it's being painted, so we only had the outdoor pool to play in today. We stayed in for a little while, but it was quite cold so we soon got out to sunbathe and read on the very comfortable sun loungers!
Later on, we had a buffet tea (the best kind!) and watched some TV - didn't manage to find a film tonight though!
