Today we left Horseshoe Bend behind after a fantastic, relaxing week. It was nice to spend time in a small town after touring the big cities and all of the people we met were really friendly and helpful. We were woken up at 3am on this day by a thunder storm going on outside. It must have been right on top of us as the thunder and lightening were happening at the same time and our room was being lit up by the lightening! Pretty scary, but a regular occurrence in Arkansas at this time of year. There was no TV signal again when we got up so no doubt there were a lot of very unhappy Americans complaining at reception again! As it was our last day here we did a loa...

Today we had decided to make use of our hire car and explore the local area away from the resort. On opening thwe car outside our cabin, we found that our glovebox had been opened and our paper work for the car emptied out, and an empty drinks cup, which smelt of whisky, had been left in the cup holder. We worked out that we'd left the passenger door unlocked because there's no central locking on the car and some drunken idiot must have been going around the site...

As we've been doing very little apart from relaxing, we'll condense a few days into one entry here. So this is what we've done in Horseshoe Bend from Saturday 11th - Monday 13th June. Our first job on Saturday was to upload the photos from New Orleans using the free computers in the rec centre and get the blog up to date. After a 5:30 alarm this morning we took the $2 bus back to the airport. On the way to the bus stop we saw people still coming out of bars from the night before! This time our stop over was in Houston, Texas and we eventually arrived at Little Rock airport in Arkansas at around 3pm, a few hours later than planned as our first flight was half an hour late, meaning we had to catch a later flight to Little Rock.
