We were woken up at 3am on this day by a thunder storm going on outside. It must have been right on top of us as the thunder and lightening were happening at the same time and our room was being lit up by the lightening! Pretty scary, but a regular occurrence in Arkansas at this time of year. There was no TV signal again when we got up so no doubt there were a lot of very unhappy Americans complaining at reception again! As it was our last day here we did a load of washing and swam in the Lake for the last time. We spent quite a lot of time on the free computers in the afternoon updating the blog and facebooking. We heard from Mam and Dad (Bailey) that they have booked 2 weeks in Melbourne for early December, which means some free accommodation for us, and gives Dad the chance to visit Australia AT LAST (now that all 3 of his children have been!…well we will be there in November!), it will be great to see them after 6 months away, and we might be able to send a few xmas prezzies home with them for the lucky ones (George, Ruby and new baby!).
The entertainment that night was Karaoke! Hosted by…Joe Beavers…who else! We were concerned that it was just going to be him singing Elvis songs all night, but a few brave people got up after a while. There was one funny old lady who we had spotted earlier in the day instructing her husband to take photos of her while she was in a kayak on the lake, she sang American Pie and I don't think anyone realised how long the song was will all of the verses! It was quite painful to watch her struggling through the verses, but everyone joined in with the chorus!
We returned to our cabin quite early on to pack ready for our long journey the next day. On the way back to the cabin we saw the most amazing view of the full moon shining on the lake. It's something neither of us had seen before. We tried to take photos but they didn't do it justice. Perfect end to a perfect relaxing week!
