Here is our first installment of many to keep all of you folks back at home up to date with what we've been up to.

This is the officailly the 5th day of our travels although most of the first day was spent travelling. Getting to the airport with plenty of time to spare and with the Downey's and Metcalfe's in tow, we pull our bags up to the check in desk in Manchester. It was here that we were informed that we would not be sitting together on our London to New York leg. I wanted to spit my dummy out (as mt mum put it!) but Brian, as usual, remained calm and said we would sit togther. When we get to Heathrow we asked again if we could sit together and the lady put a request in for an upgrade. When we got to the gate we checked to make sure that we were sitting apart when we were told that we had been upgraded!!! World Traveller Plus baby!! So we arrived in New York after a luxorious flight and having watched some good movies (I love you man, recommend it to anyone!!) only to find that the airport had been shut down while they were waiting for President Barak Obama to board Air Force One! We ended up sitting on the tramac for about an hour an a half! We then took the inexpensive route to the airport via public transport and we finally arrived at the hostel 2 hours later and fell asleep straight away!!

On our first full day we spent the day walking around the Natural History Museum and had a wonder arounf Time's Square. Had an amazing pizza in John's then headed back to the hostel. Discovered they sell Magners in the shop below so we sat in our room, magners in hand and watched an amazing thunder storm. Off to Boston tomorrow.
