hello everyone, u may have noticed i havnt blogged for a while - tahts becuase whenever im online,im looking for a job! so selfish..i am sorri! also, i am always jotting down little blog notes in my book but find that nicole beats me to the punch. she has serious blog OCD. its her own personal 'dear diary' and even if we have done nothing all day, she must tell the world.. so im sorri about those boring blogs too ;)

so..we spent our first day and half in tokyo- a very young city. your lucky to come across an old person here! all the youths travel in packs, in often stylish or outrageously dressed harajuku style outfits.

Everything is uber expencive here-tried on some second hand converse which i didnt realise were 35 quid for a USED pair! the japanese are insane. even water at 67p for a small bottle. although we have been tempted by the 4 quid crepes with icecream and strawberrys several times..so naughty!

so were on the superfast 'platapus' shinkensen train as i wrote this. to kyoto..the 'countryside' of japan. were hoping to spy geisha on this mini adventure. (keep u updated)

one major problem occured is language barrior. not a hint of english spoken here but that doesnt stop them from carrying on a realllly long japanese conversion to me. whilst i stare blankly around as though im trying to conceal a fart. think thanku mite be 'aragatu' but its just too scary and embarressing to test it. the japanese say 'hi' alot. not an eglish 'hi' but a quick japanese 'hi' 'hi'. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?!

also, they bow. so you bow. but then they bow again 2 more times. and ur thinkning..do i keep doing it? who gets the last bow? also, they have to bw lower than u do, so if u dont make the concious descion to stop this tango and run away, one of you will end up on the floor!

rucksack update- mine burst a zip the other day. iv hit 21kg. have bought a sewing kit! also wore away a hole at the bottom from dragging it threw airports - ready to break down in tears from the pain on my back..or smack the next person who looks at me wrong whilst im carrying the weight of alfie. grr

sooooooo iv had to send home a box of tshirts/gifts and general crap to take some of the weight off. 50 quid later, its still as heavy! but i have some priceless miniscule space at the top now.

have finally started to go brown! and nicole has freckled up. havnt used suntan lotion at all as its constant overcast and rain-but it must be seeeping threw that cloud to grill me ever soo slightly.
