We decided to check out the Glacier Hot Pools today, when we got there though they didn't open until lunch time so we headed in to town to have a look at the Glacier tours. It was really foggy and cold today and apparently now you can't get to the glacier without a helicopter. So because of the conditions they weren't running any of the tours today other than the walking one where you just walk to a viewpoint where you can see the glacier but not I on it. You can walk to a viewpoint yourself so we decided we'd see if we could do one of the glacier walks tomorrow. It's strange how much things have changed in the 2 years since Adam was last here, when he was here in 2010 you could do glacier walks by foot but now the glacier has shrunk so much that it's not possible anymore!! We headed back to the glacier hot pools, they were so nice, they're set outside but undercover and even though it was cold, foggy and raining, the pools were so hot that it was lovely! There were three pools, one at 36 degrees, the next at 38 degrees and the last at 40 degrees. We spent most of our time in the 40 degree pool, it was so hot though that we had to keep getting out to cool down then get back in! After we left the hot pools we went to a cafe in town and got some lunch, it was probably one of the best chicken caesar salads I've ever had, it was so good!! We decided to stay at the other campsite tonight so that we would have Internet access, we parked up and then washed all our dishes and stuff in the kitchen then decided to drive to the glacier to see how long the walk was to the viewpoint. It was an hour and a half round trip to the viewpoint and it would have been dark before we got back and we didn't think it would be lit up as you walk through a riverbed so we just headed back and hoped we would be able to do the glacier walk tomorrow, if not we'll just go to the viewpoint... On the way back through town we called in to the bar we went to last night and managed to get the seats in front of the log fire and watched some more Olympics. It was the weirdest Olympic sport we had ever seen, speed walking, they all just looked very camp and we were both willing the old Russian guy to win just because he was so much older than everyone else!! We stayed for a couple of drinks and got some garlic bread to nibble but it was actually a garlic loaf and you got a whole loaf of bread! It was yummy though! We headed back to the campsite after and made some tea and Skype'd home whilst watching even more Olympics!
