In Anjuna (North Goa) at the minute, which is a welcome change from Salem.
The journey up here took us 2 days, during one ofthe train journeys Laura was pleasantly sleeping when a transvestite calle Preena came and sat on her lap. She/he was begging for money. She offered to do a song or dance for 10 rupees but?laura declined and had a little chat with her/him and then paid him/her just to get off her lap.
The best way to describe Anjuna is chillaxed. It is both as chilled out and relaxed as possible, full of hippies young and old.
Its a welcoming change to where what ever clothes you like and not have people safety pin your top up as you are showing skin.?We can?even sun bathe in a bikini, which we both now regret as we are complete lobsters (sun burnt).
It is also a nice change to be able to eat whatever we want and also even not eat if we don't want to!!
At the moment we've spent a couple of days on the beach and also being harassed by people saying "come look in my shop madame, very good price". But also being entertained by a crazy Italian hippy who's discovered his own style of yoga/contemporary dance and spends all day frolicking in the waves and lying with his head in the sand as the sea splashes over him - it is a wonder he hasn't drowned yet. Oana, our boss/guide lady, said he has been doing it as long as she has been taking groups to Goa - so 7 months.
Tomorrow we leave for Palolem, which is in South Goa and we are told has some pretty amazing beaches.
We will try not leave it so long until we write our next blog!
Take care
