About the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas.
Monday we explored the Grand Canyon (or just that part of the Grand Canyon that you can explore in one day!). So we woke up at six. Took a small, easy going breakfast. Made lunch. And went to the Grand Canyon. Again the sunrise wasn't that super but around eleven the clouds disappeared. We were dropped of at the Bridge Angel Lodge. From there I went with Steffen and Jessica to Verkamp's Visitor Center. We walked along the trail which gave a wonderful view from every point that we passed. Because we were running out of time we took the shuttle bus to the fireside chat at the Park Headquarters. It was really quiet in the Grand Canyon and we were the only one at the fireside chat. The ranger told us about the different people that lived in the Grand Canyon and she showed us pictures from the items that they found. After the fireside chat I walked further along the trail to the Yavapai Geology Museum and from there I took the shuttle bus again to the Rim to River talk at the Grand Canyon Visitors Center. I met Nic, Vivian and Eileen and we listened to the interesting presentation from the ranger. We all had our ranger junior book and after the presentation we did a kind of promise and we became real junior rangers haha! We knew that it was for children from four year and older but it was so much fun! Afterwards I took the shuttle bus to Yaki point. That was a really nice ride because I was alone at the bus and the driver told me about the history of the trails, about the people that came to the Grand Canyon and about his own family because his wife was a Navajo. Unfortunately we were to quick at the Yaki point and I went out to take a look at the Grand Canyon from this point. After a short photo shoot I took the next shuttle bus back to Yavapai Geology Museum. There was another ranger program called Geo-Glimpse. It was interesting but a bit boring at the end. Luckily we had a super great view from Yavapai Geology Museum. At the museum I also met many of the others from the group and after the presentation we walked back to the Grand Canyon Visitors Center where Art picked us up. In the evening I really didn't do anything! I just went with a small group to Wendy's (pretty good burgers) and when we came back in the hotel I decided to fill the bad and read a book. It was a good preparation for Las Vegas! Here we spent our last two days. Before we left we tried one time more to get a good sunrise in the Grand Canyon. And that worked out! So with nice pictures we drove further to Las Vegas. We arrived early in the afternoon but we could already check in. So after we checked in I went with Amara to the Hard Rock Hotel. Wauw that looks good! We walked back and did a small part from the Strip. We saved the big part for today! Yesterday evening we also had a limo ride. That was awesome! We had a huge disco limo filled with drinks and we went out several times on different places at the Strip. After two hours we ended up at the Bellagio. We hanged around, took some more drinks, watch the fountains and went back to the hotel (which is situated just behind the Strip). So today I've walked all day long, I went almost in every hotel to take a quick look and discovered Las Vegas during day time (which is pretty different then the night time). And at this moment I just come back from the Lion King. That was really great! Tomorrow we are going to camp again in Death Valley (bye bye luxury life, bye bye shower) and unfortunately are the three weeks already finished in just two days! But that still means that I have two days left to enjoy! Greetings.
