I'm on.
Again a blog which means… I'm able to join the tour! After some exiting hours at the Holiday Inn, Art (our tour leader) came back with a van with 14 seatbelts. You probably can imagine that I was really happy with that. Art phoned around the whole morning so at this moment everybody working at TrekAmerica knows me as 'number fourteen' which also became kind of my nick name. We drove down to Washington and are staying in a nice hotel at this moment. When we arrived there wasn't any room available for me (number fourteen) so Art told me that I could stay at his room for the moment. Really nice especially because when I opened the door I found out that there was only one bed in that room. So we made a tour to the other rooms. In the boys room there was a spare bed but luckily one of the girls rooms had also a spare bed so I could move over to there. As I said before the group is really great. We are four boys and ten girls. The boys are from Germany, Australia, Japan and South Korea. One of the girls is from Germany (traveling together with the German boy), three girls are from Australia and the other girls are from South Korea. So our tour leader is Art. He is also really great. Even if the tour just has been started I already like it so much and have seen so many things! Yesterday evening we had a Christmas meal at a hostel nearby our hotel. There we also met an other group which are doing a similar tour only they don't do the camping part. We introduced ourselves to each other (Hi, I'm number fourteen) and prepared some food in the kitchen. We had a giant ham with potatoes, vegetables and some more things like bread. And today we walked around in Washington all day. There are so many things to see over here! I went to the white house (including the big Christmas three in the front) and saw this during the day time and in the evening. Further I saw the Washington monument, the Lincoln memorial, the Korean war memorial, the Vietnam war memorial, the Capitol (including an other big Christmas three in the front) during the evening and I visited the national museum of American history and the national archives and records administration. O yes and I may not forget that we went to Ford's theatre (the place where Lincoln was murdered). Well we passed that place literally because we were walking up to the hotel and apparently we misted the theater because suddenly we stood in front of the hotel! Unfortunately we will need to leave Washington tomorrow morning already but I'm sure I could spend here easily an other week. Well anyway I will keep it to this. I'm going to take a shower and jump into bed. Bye bye for now. Greetings from number fourteen.
