Not much to report from the last couple of days. We set off from Te Anau towards Dunedin the most southern point we visit on the east coast. Left Queenstown early on Saturday and headed to Te Anau, which is about 90 minutes drive, Fi did the honours!! Drove into the town (!) to see a gorgeous lake which our hostel was right next to. Sorry haven't updated for such a long time, internet issues!! We made it to Wanaka easily, there was some amazing scenery to see. During one of our (many) stops for photos of the views Fi let a load of Sandflies into the car, this lead to hysterical attempts to kill the millions of flies using our map as a fly swat. So we made it to the South Island safely, thankfully it wasn't too choppy on the voyage across! The Marlborough Sounds scenery was stunning as we approached Picton. We left Rainbow Lodge-slightly sad-in the early morning and headed down to Wellington. The scenery on our way down was spectacular, going round the lake was a bit hairy-the roads were very windy and there was a sheer drop down to the lake-eek! As we got further down it turned into more deserty terrain with mountain ranges everywhere-as you can see from the pics.
