We arrived in Hoi An on the morning of the 29th at 7am. As it was too early to check in we took a walk into the old town. Hoi An is well known for its tailors so we had planned to get some clothes made. We went around to a few to get prices and settled on one where I was getting a maxi dress made and Kerry was getting a short long sleeved dress made. She took all our measurements and told us to come back at 5pm for our first fitting. We walked around the old town for a bit looking around and then we made our way back to the hostel. On our way back we stopped at various other clothes shops where Kerry bought a couple of dresses and then ended up in another shop where the woman was so nice and we agreed to get dresses made by her too but for a lot cheaper! We checked into the hotel and chilled out for a bit before heading back into town for our fittings at both shops. We went to one fitting and discussed the adjustments we wanted done, had dinner and then did the same at the next fitting. When we got back we went straight to bed as we hadn't slept much because of the night bus the night before!
The next day basically consisted of dress fittings again. I ended up with 2 maxi dresses and a matching crop top and shorts set and Kerry ended up with 4 dresses from the tailors. It was so much fun getting them done and we were happy with the end products as they were very well fitted to us! Weirdly the people we met in Mui Ne and again in Dalat were staying at the same hostel as us so we went on a night out with them again in the evening which was very fun!
The next day we were very hungover and didn't do much at all apart from have lunch with some of the people that we met. In the evening we went out for an Indian, which was actually a bit of a let down as it wasn't that nice!
The next morning we were up early for a cooking class. We went around the market with our teacher picking out all the ingredients we needed for the receipts we had chosen. We made 4 dishes in total; deep fried won ton, pork noodle soup, chicken with lemongrass and chilli and grilled beef wrapped in vine leaves. It was such a great and experience and all the food tasted amazing! I wrote down all the recipes too so that I could take them and try them out at home! We spent the rest of the day around the pool at the hostel and in the evening visited the night market.
On our last day we had a beach day. We got a taxi to the beach and spent the day in the sea and on the sunbeds. It rained in the evening so we went somewhere close to the hostel for dinner and then checked out as we were leaving on an early bus the next day for Hue.
