We arrived in Cusco on the 27th and checked into our hostel, it was so cool! Really big and open and great comfy beds! We were exhausted from the day before so had a nap and then spent the rest of the afternoon going round to different tour agencies to get different prices for the trek we wanted to go on. Originally we were going to try and book the inca trail but most tour companies had no space until the 4th March which was too late for us so we ended up going for an inca jungle trek which was similar but cheaper and has less walking and more activities. For dinner we went to a restaurant and tried traditional Peruvian food, the starter was fish in a cold lime sauce and the main beef with tomatoes and rice and chips. We went back to the hostel and had an early night.

The next day we got up and booked our inca jungle trek with Loki travel as we had read a lot of good reviews about it. In total it came to $260 US. After that we had lunch at jacks cafe which served English food and then joined a free walking tour. The tour was actually really good and we learnt a lot about the history of Cusco and about the incas. In the evening we had dinner at the hostel restaurant and then went for a massage, it was Kerry's first one and although it wasn't that professional the massage itself was really good!

The next day went on a tour to the sacred valley. It was a long 12 hour day and we stopped at 3 different sites and learnt a lot! The history of the incas is really interesting and the views were amazing!

The following morning we went horse riding in the mountains, it was just a walking one and again the views were amazing! The horses were really good as well, Kerry's was a bit jumpy but apart from that they were great! In the afternoon we walked back down from the mountain, went to the supermarket to buy food and then went to the inca museum where we got to see mummified remains! We had our briefing in the evening with our tour company and then went to bed early as we had our trek the next day.

We arrived at our tour company at 6.30am and caught a bus to a place where we had breakfast. We then carried on in the bus for another hour and then got out and did a 3 hour cycle ride down the mountain! It was so scary as it was raining so much and we had to cycle through streams as well! At he bottom of the mountain we took a bus to the hostel where we were staying that night and had lunch there. In the afternoon some people went rafting but we stayed and relaxed as we had heard it was dangerous and was quite expensive! In the evening we had dinner all together with our tour group and then went to bed.

The next morning we were up at 7.00am and the day pretty much consisted of walking up a mountain. We trekked for around 8 hours with a few stops along the way. We had lunch at 3pm and the bottom of the other side of the mountain and then caught a bus to the hot springs. After the hot springs we went and checked into our hostel, we showered and then went for dinner at a nearby restaurant and then went for a drink in a club after. It was pretty quiet though so we went back to the hostel and to bed as we were getting up early the following morning.

The next day we had breakfast at the same restaurant and then went zip lining. We did 5 in total, they were so high but so much fun! we also got to walk across a suspension bridge, but it was horrible! I hated every minute of it and was so scared that the boy in front of me had to help me! It's safe to say I will not be doing that again! After zip lining we then walked an hour to the place where we had lunch. It was right up in the trees, and the lunch was delicious! After lunch we continued hiking for 3 hours until we got to our hostel for that night. We had dinner at 7 in the town, and then went to bed early as the next day we were visiting Machu Picchu!

We got up at 4.20am so that we could catch the first bus (5.30am) up to Machu Picchu. We met our tour guide outside the entrance at 6am and he took us round for a tour for 2 hours. It was amazing, the views were incredible and the history of the site was really interesting. After the tour we hiked halfway up Machu Picchu mountain and then we hiked up to the sun gate. We were walking for ages and after the past 4 days it was knackering! We got the bus back down to the town at about 1.30pm, had lunch and then waited for our train back to Cusco.

We stopped over in Cusco for the night, the next day we had a flight to Lima, stopped over in Lima for a few hours and then caught a flight to Cancun!
