MACHU PICCHU
$200 to get up at 4am, wait in a line for a bus for one and a half hours, then queue for another hour to enter some old ruins that might be sacred and might not? But we got the classic photos as well as climbing Machu Picchu mountain to have an overview of the surrounding valley and the ruins themselves. We did it, even though it burned a hole in our accounts!!!
Would we do it again?..................Probably Not!

PARACAS
A bird watching paradise with Pelicans, Comorants and so many more (see photos). Here the Atacama desert meets the Pacific Ocean. This stretch of coast has the cold Humbolt current running through it which creates a massive diversity of plant and animal life that nowhere else in the world can match. Lesson over.
HUARAZ
The spectacular Cordillera Blanca was all around us here and with treks, mountain climbing, horse riding, rafting and all other manner of adventure activities we were spoilt.
We decided to venture deep into the mountains to feel the full force of nature upon us, we started at 4000m and climbed up to a literally breathtaking 5000m to see the beautiful 'Laguna 69' hidden between icey glaciers and mega mountains. During the 3 hour trek and climb to the Lagoon we came across waterfalls, rivers, glaciers all around us, bright coloured flowers and a few horses and cows thrown in for good measure. The scenery here blows you away and we can safely say there is nowhere like this in the world! It was truely a humbling experience that we shall never forget!
HUANCHACO
A quaint beach village where the surf is good and the living is easy! (However the surf is only good during the high season December to March and most things are shut out of season.....ooopppps). The weather was warm but overcast and muggy for the 3 days we were there...oh well. There was one saving grace though and it came in the form of a liquid heaven!
Ingredients: Milk, Vanilla Ice-cream, Oreo Biscuits
Method: Add all ingredients to blender, blend and serve into a tall glass with a straw!
EL Sueño de Oreo, enjoy! This tastes even better when it is served to you by a breast feeding waitress, we just hope she didnt make it! No shame....hahaha we just didnt know where to look when ordering in case we were rude???
Thank you Otra Cosa!

yrmum Sound amazing and probably the hardest work you have done all trip! I am looking forward to getting your "Top 10" of everything - ie best for this/ that /experience/beauty etc and most importantly - overall. It will be hard to do I am sure as you have seen and experienced so much but it will be an interesting excercise for you to quantify all this - and for us to read.....But of course it is not all over yet. Marcus and I off to Amsterdam for 3 days on 14th - cultural tour and re-visiting old haunts from my "celeb" days a million years ago. Cant wait to see you guys and you will have heard news re Will and Lauras ttravel plans - so one lot back and another lot leave - wow...my turn soon! Much love you lucky lovely people - bear hugs xxxxxxx
