Welcome to the Ecuadorian Weather Channel, EWC. Today we are going to give you a special report for the coast of Ecuador for all you beach lovers.

So as you can see we have a mix-match of a forecast. Mostly it will be overcast, with rain and heavy muggyness in the air to really give you an all round damp feeling throughout the day. There are going to be a couple of sunny spells during the week but they will only last for a few hours on 2 afternoons so get out the suncream and towels as it is BEACH, BEACH, BEACH!!!

Unfortuantly we are then to go back to a dreary and wet time for the next week or so, so if you have any plans to tan, forget them. This is an English Summer situation!

Now over to my activities advisor Eduardo and his esteemed coleague Larissima.

Here are our top tips for activities to do and where to do it on the coast of Ecuador if you find yourself in dreary weather!!

1. Go Whale watching! After all, it is Humpback Whale mating season and they will pull off all sorts of jumps and spins to impress the lady whale! A must see.

You can take boat tours from all along the coast and are 100% guarenteed to see them. We saw them in Salinas and Puerto Lopez.

2. Horse ride. Canter down a long empty stretch of beach and through the waters edge, then ride deep into the forest and look down on the coast to take in its true beauty. A perfect way to take in the surroundings.

The best place to do it is on Ayampe beach, a secluded town dotted with a few surfers and a population of sleepy village people.

3. Swim and play frisbee. It's raining and you're wet already so might as well go swimming!

Fun to do all up the coast so long as you have a beach and a frisbee!

4. Learn to surf. Grab a board and have a go on Ecuador's famous breaks, it's fun, exhuasting, rewarding and makes you look as cool as a fridge??!!

Great to do on Ayampe beach where there are great waves for the beginner and the more advanced surfer to have a go. Remember though it's all about the POP!!

5. Eat, shop and sleep. These are essentials of most days but why not do it in style as Ecuador is pretty Americanized so malls are in abundance and food is big!!! However sleep is hard to come by as Ecuador loves to party, whether it is in the clubs till 9am or just a couple of guys with a distorted car sound system with the most god aweful music at 2am- 3am then again at 4am- 5am! So when the oppertunity arises to sleep take it!!
