So today we explored a beautiful little town called Dinan. It's known for a big medieval festival which they will be having next weekend ( sad we missed it!). But today was great fun! It was just amazing to get to wander the smaller towns, both of them had local artists both painting and playing music. It was like living in a totally different world.
I bought a cute, simple little pink sun dress despite the fact that it was freezing most of the day. It's mainly the wind, and the clouds that make it so very cold. I may have to buy myself a new, warmer jacket soon! I also got a few presents for people, and some postcards to keep track of where I've been! I'm slowly getting presents and adjusting to spending money. Euros are still tricky to get use to, and I'm trying to be as frugal as possible since I know money goes fast! I've really enjoyed the food, I even tried Mussels the other day (St. Malo is famous for their seafood after all) and a little piece of crepe. I even tried some tea and fell in love with Caramel tea with just a hint of cream and sugar. It's delicious!
Spent about an hour just hanging out at a cafe enjoying some strawberry (which wasn't strong enough, kind of like barely scented hot water) but just sitting and taking the time to relax was great. I'm starting to get a better grasp of the language though I am still struggiling quite a bit, I'm doing alright and managing to mostly get my point across.
I miss home a lot still, this weekend has been rough because I haven't really gotten to talk to anyone from home since they've been busy, or not online when I can be, so that's been hard after getting use to talking to home every night. Makes me realize how important those conversations are, just a voice from home is such a comfort.
Anyways, I'm going to head to bed, we have an early day tomorrow! We're visiting St. Michael which is built on some rocks, and is considered one of the wonders of the world! It looks beautiful from the photos I've seen, but I am not looking forward to the six hour bus ride to return to paris. But then Rachel and I are going to the Fireman's Ball a local dance and grill type celebration the eve before Bastille Day! I hope it will be fun, but we can't stay out late because mid terms start Monday too!
Bon soir!! Je t'aime!
