So I am camping out at a group of apartments for a few days before flying on, pool, pay T.V and aircon pretty tough really. Gives me a bit of time to workout this blog. Really is awsome here and am being well taken care of so the only thing is I am the only one here to enjoy it, (wish you were here Danielle). Glad I got that camera at least so I can send back a pinch of whats happening

The trip over was not entirely incident free unfortunately I opened my bag to find the bag of soy beans I brought for sprouting had not survived the trip and were scattered throughout my luggage. ( I have to grow everything myself while at camp so the sprouts are to get me through till the vegetable patch is established). I have collected them up but a little worried about the exposure to the humidity either causing them to sprout or start some fungal growth anyway have plenty of others.

The drive from the airport was funny and chaotic , I wish I had taken some photographs but wasn't quite ready to do the tourist thing with the camera out the window this early in the piece. There were plenty of horn blasts as pedestrians, cars, overcrowded minibuses and three wheel taxis jossled for their spot on the highway. The traffic police at each intersection must have nerves of steel!

The highlights of the trip included a few locals spotting a mzungu (European) in the car next to them and reversing intent to drag race us from the lights and needing to swerve to miss a pedestrian an few hundred metres ahead. Gerard who is my driver for the time here must also have nerves of something tuff... Next up we were pulled over for having an unreadable numberplate, It was obvious the officer was perplexed to see me but he said nothing to me. I will be going along the same highway at four thirty in the morning on Sunday so I might break the camera out then but otherwise I can't send you back an visual insight now until I leave in March.
