Writing brief notes about the seattle leg as everytime I've tried to write up about it, the dam blog keeps deleting it aarggh!! so I was in Seattle and Washington area for 5 days and this is a bulletpoint rundown of what accured
1. Day one in Seattle. Met up with my 2 friends the mel Twinsies. Oz Mel and American Mel. We based ourselves in Seattle for Monday night. Catching up with each other, plowed straight into the minibar as you do before going to eat, another drink, then going into Fremont to meet some aquaintances of Mels and had happy hour courtesy of some very cool guys, Adam, John and the crew. Headed back to hotel for some more drinks before crashing and watching a movie.
2. Day 2 and 3. Packed up Mels car and drove into Olympic penninsula and did 2 days of exploration around there. Lots of preety and not so pretty places to go. It's just one lush forest and beautiful scenery. It's also very wet. Visited towns like Port Angeles and also had a day in the town of Forks which anyone who has read Twilight will know it's importance. We also took in the Quileute reservation and their beaches which were truly spectacular considering the winds were kicking up at 30 knots and storm was coming in. So a very few interesting days but it was dead at night. Loved it!!!
3. Day 4 and 5. We headed back to Seattle and said goodbye to American Mel :( and then met up with Oz Mels friend Anna for a further 2 days in Seattle. Again brief highlights of what we did, ate food, had an explore around the area's. We done Space Needle (a must), then progressed onto The Underground Tour, took 2 trips to Pike Stmarket which is another must and saw the infamous and highly disturbing gum-wall. When the pictures go up you'll understand or just google it. We had our last meal together on Friday down by the marina, eating yummy seafood and getting wet and cold once again. Saturday said goodbye to Mel (sniff) before gathering up my stuff and heading for the ferry to take me across the border to Canada.
So long USA :))
