Day 75 Daintree Rainforest, Queensland Early start today as we are being collected at 7:20 to be driven to the Daintree Rainforest in northern Queensland, one of the oldest rainforests on earth and a World Heritage site. Day 74 The Great Barrier Reef Well we needed to be up relatively early as we have a boat trip booked for the Great Barrier Reef but possibly not quite as early as we actually were. No luck with the camera, looks like it is totally wrecked, I only hope that the photos on the internal card can be retrieved and that we can at least get a replacement when we get home. Day 73 Port Douglas Oh what a beautiful morning - sun, sun and more sun. A leisurely breakfast eaten outside looking at tropical plants with dappled sunlight playing upon the leaves of banana palms and some very strange plants that I have no idea what they are called. Day 72 Townsville to Port Douglas Well I take back to a degree what I said yesterday about there being nothing to see. Todays drive from Townsville to Port Douglas did produce some interesting scenery even though the journey took much longer than we expected. It was around 400 km which we reckoned would take about 5 hrs based on previous drives and the fact than the roads are single carriageway with a max speed of 100kph.
