As a sporting fringe dweller, I have to say I've had the best time tonight. As always the best things happen without any planning. We're currently watching Real Madrid thrash the pants off San Larenzo. Arrived in Madrid this afternoon. Went looking for paella tonight. Found a bar and lots of locals watching the game. So.........guess what!! Two hours later we're still here - no paella but great steak and lamb chops - oh....and fairly good red wine! Ain't ...

Arrived in Seville yesterday. Staying at Las Casas de la Juderia. This hotel is absolutely amazing!! Never seen anything like it. It was originally a medieval palace and there is an absolute labyrinth of underground passage ways and courtyards in which we've both become lost at least once already. It's in the old Jewish Quarter of Saville and I can't begin to describe the amazing decor. Will put some photos up.

After a very nasty scare in Barcelona about 40 years ago, I was never quite sure I wanted to come back, but very glad I did and looking forward to another visit just before we fly home. It's a very beautiful city and the people this time around have been really friendly and helpful. 7:15am in Barcelona!! Arrived yesterday morning at 9:30 and kept ourselves going until we finally hit the wall at about 7:00pm. Barcelona is a beautiful city and we found an antiques market very close to the hotel in Catalunya Square - so that made Lionel very happy! Had a lovely wander around the streets with our new-found friends, Alida and Peter from Sydney. Met them as we were landing in Zurich - sitting behind us on the plane and also coming to Barcelona....
