I am so enjoying the civilization of Darwin. I could stay all day and night in the beautiful apartment on the 20th floor at Skytower. It is great to spend some time with my parents. The boys are very happy to see Granny who is giving them lots of attention! Today we went to the wave-pool (outdoors) and did some shopping. We left the Bungle Bungles early and drove all day, across the WA-NT border and stayed at the Victoria River Roadhouse. It was a lovely place with good cheap meals and the cheapest campground yet ($15). The surrounding area is beautiful too with sandstone escarpment bordering the river.

Today we walked most of the trails in the NP, about 14km. The boys have been really keen hikers. In the morning we went to Mini Palms Gorge and Echidna Chasm (photo). Here the rocks are 200m high. After lunch and a shower back at the Kurrajong campsite, we drove over to the Piccaninny carpark - here you see the dome style formations that are characteristic of the Bungle Bungles. We drove from El Questro to Purnululu NP (Bungle Bungles) today. The road into the NP is very windey we spent the journey listening to Famous Five audio books. We arrived in time to walk up to a lookout and watch the rocks change color as the sunset.

We are staying 3 nights at El Questro. We arrived late last night and this morning we headed into Kunanurra for food, fuel and internet access. Feeling more organised we headed back to El Questro and stopped at Emma Gorge. It was a nice walk to the swimming hole under a waterfall. There was a hot spring in some rocks to the side also.
