We had another rollercoaster boat ride at 6am back to Puerto Ayora. To our horror when we boarded mrs sicky from last time was sitting opposite us again. She was ok this time though, unfortunately for the people at the back of the boat 3 American girls all had to run and throw up into the sea. One poor girl was ghostly white from the start and was truly hating life the whole way. The co-captain was running up and down handing out tissues, plastic bags and water, however this didn't make the captain drive any slower or more carefully. We were all fine luckily and even managed to have a little nap although we kept getting woken up by the boat throwing us around and slamming into the water. We probably would have found it more funny if it hadn't been so early in the morning.
We returned to our mate Kev in Puerto Ayora and finally managed to put some washing on which was needed after the cruise. The rest of the day was enjoyable but relaxing, although the day started off quite dreary and miserable it brightened up in the afternoon and we went to Tortuga Bay, a beautiful beach not far from the centre of the town. We hired kayaks and spent a good hour looking for marine life. We actually saw the most when we were back at the shore, there were about 6 white tip sharks swimming around and sleeping by the mangroves, as well as around 8 sting rays and a spotted eagle ray swimming really close to the beach. Some of them were huge (4/5 feet) and stayed a while hanging around under our boats. We chickened out of snorkelling in the end, partly because the visibility wasn't great and also as we didn't have wetsuits this time. We chilled on the beach instead, Nathan (now more commonly referred to as Nay or Nay Nay) had a great time playing with sloppy sand and Browny burying me and Eddy getting everyone soaked and starting a waterfight. The girls made friends with some Americans who are heading to Bongo bar tonight too. We are determined to make it past 11pm tonight!!
We met another English traveller at the hostel, Marcus, who came with us for dinner (Hannan Cafe for the second time in one day - it was so delicious, one of the best meals we've had). He looked a spitting image of Harry Potter and a guy actually shouted "It's Harry Potter!" from across the street. I then pretended to be Hermione and Nay decided that Browny was Moaning Murtle which she wasn't too impressed with. Nathan made everyone laugh at dinner again, we were speaking Spanish and he just turned to the waiter and said "times two" in the most English accent to order his drink.
Bongo Bar was a little quiet, one of the few people in there was Jorge (Hawaii) from Joybe tours!! Nathan and Marcus left early as they didn't fancy dancing to Spanish music with us. Overall a good day and evening!!
