Today we dressed and packed up our bags bound for Ilha grande, we were picked up and 10, and the drive to the ferry took forever, even stopping off road side for lunch! We finally got to the boat, which had been sold to us as a 15min speed boat trip, it turned out to be a large, very slow boat which took us an hour, bit of a joke, but we got there in the end!
The island was gorgeous and we checked into our dorm for 25real a night - half the price of the mango tree! This said we learnt the lesson cheap is not always best!
As my foot now resembled a elephants hoof -not sure elephants have hoofs??? We decided to take it easy and went for a leisurley stroll down the beach and walked into the town, unfortunaltey there was no sunset due to more grey weather. We decdied to eat at the hostal for ease, they were cooking a 15R dinner which included a caiprihini - sold. We sat with the irish people off our boat and was an ok evening. We decided to go to bed early, but when we got to the room found one of the aussie girls who was in our dorm ill. We leant them our thermometer only to find she was like 38.6 degrees, not great! So we ended up staying up for a while, someone then knocked on the door to give me the brilliant news that theyd found my camera in the bar, it must have dropped out of my pocket, but i was relieved tohave got it back, with all the worry of this girl being ill i didnt look at it later, when i found it was broken, the screen totally broke! I cant see how it would have broken falling out of my pocked while seated about 2 foot off the ground, the pictures of randoms on it suggested other things may have occured too!Pretty gutted, but we tried to look on the bright side, at least the photos were still on it! Finally went to bed at 12 not in the best of moods!
