Yep, another sea day. My throat is really sore now. Hurts to swallow. Stacey thinks I've got it worse than her. Debating taking anti-biotics just in case. We've got a port day tomorrow and I'd like to be able to enjoy it.
I just want to sleep today though, so Stacey goes on her own to get breakfast. The chef messes up and puts onion in her omlet, but she just picks it out. She likes onion, but has been trying to avoid it.
She's going to another shopping seminar, and I manage to join her around 11:30 am. They offer a draw for a necklace at these seminars and free bracelet charms for a free bracelet that we're supposed to be able to get at our next port, Cozumel, Mexico tomorrow.
There is a game of hide and seek with some of the ships officers hiding on the ship somewhere and you have to find them. Jimmy, the cruise director, is found in the spa in drag, wearing the largest spa girl type scrubs he can find and a blonde wig. Stacey gets a quick picture of him.
We go to find food next. Gonna be brunch for me I guess. Still not hungry, but the Beach Blanket buffet is doing a bbq outside on the deck behind the restaurant and it smells soooooo good. BBQ corn, chicken, ribs and tuna. Plus whatever they have inside at the buffet. The place is packed. Not many tables around and we have to search for find one outside on the deck. It's hot. Probably 28C and very humid. I'm using my cloth napkin more to wipe sweat off my forehead than food from my face. Way more. Stacey, of course, loves the heat and is in her glory.
We finish up and try to get some sun, but it's too much for me. I wander inside, waiting for our cabin host, Noel, to finish straightening up our stateroom. He and Stacey finish at just about the same time. Stacey's ready to do something else, and I'm ready to drop. I get on the futon in our room and close my eyes. Stacey promisies to wake me for a special surprise event that had been announced earlier today for 4pm.
The surprise? The Atlantic City Boys are performing up on deck 9 outside and they are offering free beverages from 4-5pm. A whole lot of people show up. As soon as drink trays show up, hands swarm around and empty the tray. I can't get close, and already feeling sick, and overheated, I give up trying to get one after about 20 minutes. I don't know how these guys are singing with suits on and doing about 6 costume changes as well. Stacey eventually get a couple of drinks...with no alcohol in them. Some kind of ice fruit smoothy. It'll do, I'm cooking and need something cold. It feels good on my throat too. A little later, the crew manages to catch up and we both get another one, this time with some rum in it....only a little bit of rum though. It's ok, and the price is right. They are also serving beer or red and white wine, but we pass on both of those.
It's back to the room where I grab a shower and cool off a bit. We go and catch most of the crew talent contest in the main showroom, but leave early since Stacey has an appointment with the cruise shopping person. We're asking what the shopping differences are between Cozumel on this cruise, and Nassau and St. Thomas later. She says that they are very similar and gives us some tips to check out.
Back to the room to get ready for dinner. It's our second formal night tonight, and Stacey wants more pictures. Ugh. Tired of pictures, but she never does. I smile like a good hubby, and head for dinner. It's lobster night again, but I'm going pork tenderloin. Still not hungry so I take it easy again. Lots of food for everyone else though. Stacey loves her seafood.
We get pictures of our tablemates and serving staff while we're all dressed up, and head for bed. No extra shows tonight. Prep for tomorrow's excursions and time for bed.
Night all.
WYWH!
