We're up between 6:30 and 7am and we get dressed. Time to check our final bill that's been delivered outside our room this morning. On it I have been charged for an extension cord that I had borrowed. I had already let them know that I would have it until the end of the third cruise, so it's back down to guest services to get them to fix it. Then it's off for breakfast. We are the last of our table to arrive at 8:15 our assigned time. We say goodbye to all as they leave the table, and finally, we leave the ship at 9am, go down the escalator, take a quick lineup through customs, and back up an escalator to wait for 9:30 check in. We're told that we won't be able to get onto the ship until closer to 11am, so we wait until 10:45 to be taken on ship, and take advantage of our brief cell service to make some text messages.
I can't get a hold of one bill payment for my now cancelled credit card. So I have to try to email them. I hope they get it. Once on the ship, we wait for Amy at the Quiet Cove Café on Deck 10. Texting her reveals that she isn't assigned to the same dining room or table as we are, so we go downstairs and get that changed. We ask if it's possible to have our last server, Ismet, to look after our table, but we're told that it will have to be assigned and approved by the Header Server later, as he will also have to assign a table for us, since we just have a placeholder for now. Then it's over to port adventures to sign us and Amy up for the pictures with the princesses and also Anna and Elsa tomorrow.
Amy gets on about 12:45pm. She says the kids in the waiting room were getting antsy. She's hungry, so we start making our way through the crowd to the back of the ship for the Parrot Cay buffet. Lots of people are flowing on board, with lots of kids. It's noticeably more kids than last cruise. We say hello to Januar, who is assigning people seats at the buffet. Januar was our server from our very first cruise 3 years ago. Amy is surprized to see him here, and so soon after her arriving on the ship. By the time we eat, it's after 1:30 pm so it's time to go and check on our rooms. Stacey starts unpacking while I tour the ship with Amy to get her refamiliar with it, since her luggage isn't at her room yet. After about an hour, her luggage is there, but I only have a little time to start unpacking myself before it's time for the safety drill. At 6pm, it the Welcome aboard show in the Walt Disney Theatre, and then back to the room so I can quickly finish unpacking before going down to Tritons for dinner. We get our assigned table number now, but sadly, Ismet's got a full dance card. So our new server is Marvin from Phillipines, Mariana from Mexico, and Deniz is again our head server. Dinner is lovely, and right afterward Stacey and I go up to deck 5 to watch the movie, Million Dollar Arm. Amy's had a long day and skips the movie for bed. It's the only time to see the movie, as every other showing time during the cruise, we will be off the ship at a port. Such is the cruising life. You can't do it all. Too many things going on at once, you have to make choices. It's after 1 am as the movie ends…time for bed. We've got Key West, Florida tomorrow.
WYWH,
Kim =) and Stacey :)
