Krys & Toni's World Adventure
Just got here yesterday. Spent a night back in Phnom Penh on our way through. We decided to take a slow boat from there into Vietnam. The journey took all day but was really relaxing. You could sit on the roof and just fall asleep in the sun.
Spent our first night in Vietnam in Chau Doc in the Mekong Delta. Then got a bus to Saigon with the craziest bus driver, who drove the fastest he could. Once we arrived in Saigon we didn't really know which bus station we were at, and as we were deciding what to do these 2 blokes came over, pointing and saying stuff we didn't really understand. A taxi pulled up so we decided to get in it, as we did this the other two men started becoming a little agitated and did alot of shouting. As we were driving off a car races up behind us, pulls in front of us and almost forces us off the road and the 2 angry men jump out, our taxi driver stops and pulls down his window and at that point a motorbike pulls up and another angry man jumps off it and pretends to hit our taxi man through the window. After this, understandably, our taxi driver decides that he doesn't want us as passengers and asks us to get out. We were a little alarmed about what was going on but luckily once we'd got out of our taxi and it had driven off, angry man (1) decides his work is done and also drives off (with angry men 2 and 3), phew, first proper scary moment (apart from monkey attack). We eventually got to where we wanted to go, with a much friendlier taxi driver.
Went to Cu Chi tunnels today which are tunnels that the Vietnamese army used to run around in. Very small and dark. There was an entrance hole that you cold go through. Krys almost got stuck, damn those tiny Vietnamese soldiers.
T and K, xx
