Krys & Toni's World Adventure
Spent 3 days in a town near the coast called Kampot. First day we hired a motorbike and went to a small town called Kep. We stopped of a a little pebbly beach to sunbathe, well Toni subathed and Krys played in the sea, without any suncream on for protection. Surprise surprise that he got badly sunburnt and had to spend the night in bed while Toni watched Man U on the telly. Next day we went up to hill station near Kampot. It was built by the French in the 1930's. It sounded quite interesting but after a 2.5 hour car jurney up a really really bumpy road all that there was to see was some old houses, don't know what we really expected. The best bit was the fog which was really spooky, and something that you don't really expect in Cambodia. Best bit of the day was swimming is some rapids and the boat trip down the river back to Kampot. Saw the sunset over the hills from the river, really cool. We ran out of petrol and our driver (who was only about 15) had to hold on to the bushes at the side of the river while he shouted for help from passing boats. We ended up getting towed the final stretch back to town.
Went to the best beach resort in Cambodia next, called Sihanoukville. Basically spent the next three days on a beach. One day we hired a motorbike and went exploring and discoverd a beach called Krystoni beach, although Toni seems to think it was called Tonikrys beach. Basically it was a deserted stretch of white sand with no-one else on it. Next day we went on a boat trip out to several islands. We snorkelled off a couple (first one was good, could see a few fish and the coral, the second was a bit murkey and seweragey) and had a lunch of barbecued barracuda on the beach of another.
Quite funny but probably gonna make most of you sick, there were no toilets on the tour, so naturally Toni had to have a wee in the sea at one point when no-one was about unfortunately Krys picked that moment to swim underneath her to grab her leg and surprise her- gross I know but you got to admit it's quite funny!
