Gday!!

Here is just a quick look back on the second half of my life in Cairns...as i like to call it:

'Post eye'! hehehe

Sorry for the crazy lateness of this - kinda got totally out of blog up to date ness....soz! This is going to be a total shambles of a mish mashed mess but lets give it a go!!

So after all the poo of the eyeness....even though its not back to normal its in a relitavely good place at the moment so im just staying positive with that for the mean time so I dont get sad about it before it gets worse again!!

SO!

I was let out into the open of the big wide world again...and thats when everything got amazing again! I was let back to work, it was so good to be back and everybody was lovely, i could sunbathe again, and after taknig it easy and easing back into it i was finally out and drinking again, re joining the human race!! Was lovely to see eveyrbody again and was really nice to see how sweet everyone was to me. I got really friendly really quickly with the girls oppsit our flat, Simone, Katie and Leanne - they are now the closesr friends I think Ive made since Ive been away, I got super super friendly with all the girls from work, My mental karen, my swedish wonder of life karin, and all the rest of them Vicky, Hayley big hair, hayley manc etc.. etc..! I was living up sunday sesh's at the Pier EVERY SUNDAY with the flat girls - often going into work drunk! (only sundays mind, there was no way if i was working a sunday i was missing sunday sesh!!), doing plentyful dress up nights with the girls, posh lunches with my work ladies, and cocktails at the Salt house, pool parties, going to salsa classes!! I was literally having the TIME OF MY LIFE!!! I got close to so many people...practically knew everyone in Cairns, got free drinks everywhere, went on day trips with Katie to see Koalas and kangas (and bouncing aroudn the place preteneding to be them in a david atinborough reinactment!!)

Oh my gosh what else....sorry this is abit all over the place im trying to remember everything!! We had MANY a bbq at the lagoon....which i always helped out at alot..by eating. obvuiously! WE played games, chilled by our pool, cooked dinners together, watched dvds, ate alot of pizzza!! Ate MANY hot dogs from the hot dog man 'chris from midelsborough!' love him!! lots of shots, lots of goon!! lots of dancing, golden gaytimes, admiring the tax man, the ozzy men, the pier man, the irishman! hahaha. ummmmmm had some amzing nights at work, dress up nights...the all white party, the saints and sinners balll!! ohhhhhh and the cocktail training!! That was always fun!! I no some amzaing cocktails now....and the lessons always ended up pretty funny!! and it alwats good when your out drinknig when we would stumble upon Salt house on Dans cocktail trainnig and lap up all the free cocktails at the ebe when it wasnt even our training!!

Fajita nights.....and the worst hangovers known to man. I dont get hngovers...and oh my god. OH MY GOD. i cant even put it into words!! Oh and mine Sian and Kates port douglas day! that was lovely...Kate drove us up to port douglas and we had a lovely day on the beach, nice lunch and lil sight seeing!! topped it off with cocktails at salt house.....again!

Sorry this blog is a total mess....my last few days were pretty damnincredible andi can probably remember them abit better than the rest of it so here goes....for a little more detail!!

LAST 4 DAYS!!

Sunday sunday sunday.......what a day! OK so we started off by having another bbq....our last bbq at the lagoon!! The 4 of us (minus leanne as she had left!!) Had our bbq....and then in pure routine again took a change of clothes...got all dolled up in the loo's at the pier and then were at pier for the first time ever 15 mins early!!! We never get there early for happy hour!! So at 5 we were ready to get on my 10 vodcas in 2 hour challenge which i did and more....oh dear. I swear i love knowing everyone that works in nearly every bar but its not good when they give you free stuff!! ooooooooh my!! So I had an awesome night at the pier with everyone, saying all my goodbyes and things, was so sad!! So then at 9 i left everyone and skipped on to work pretty far gone!! Alllll night at work Pauly did me in...shots every 5 mins, constant drinks....i did.not.stop!! Chocolate cake shots...they were amazing though!! So it was me Pauly, Ross, Archie, Dan, Bex, and Hayley on.....i had such a giggle!! karen would of been on too but she had gotten ehr as fired...as had Hayley!! Me and other Haylley were the only backpackers left!! So i was boucning around like a mad woman all night, i literlaly love that job. So many customers were like wow, you love your job dont you!! I was like yes!! Me and Dan were ruling the dancnig behind the bar messing around squirting soda everywhere, i lityerallt got away with murder that night!! Him pauly and ross were like dont go!! Awwwwwww it was so hard!! At the end of the night cleanig pu totally blind was hilarious....and counting up my till was even more hilarious (they deffo should of not let me do that do drunk1!) but my til was like 2 dollars up or something...i swear when i work drunk my til is always bang on or close!! so much better than sober working!! At the end of the shift we all sat down together and had knock offs and reminised!! Ross was like irs been a pleasure having you work here, and if you ever need a reference I will again, give you a glowing one. It was so sweet, i got such propper good byes - where as most people dont ger send offs like me!! I was just really really touched....and really really drunk! So went home, was VERY ill - and cleverly decided to call the old parents in the process?! GOOD ONE KATE, great idea!!! So after alot of illness finally got myself off to bed ready to get up in a matter of hours to go to the reef at 7am!!!

Monday - S0, was woken up by sianage at just before 7...and for about 5 mins im like im so totally fine!! then was very vilioented not well!! had to walk to the boat and had to stop for illness a stupid amount. Managed to crawl on to the boat and was greeted by a bacon and egg sandwidge......one look and i was in the loo. Coulsnt even keep water down!! Pretty much spent the whole morning on the floor of the boats toilets dying inside!!! Missed all the breifings....then passed out o nt he top deck! So i wake up at about 2 ad everyone is snorkellign and thinking about going in the water was like death....chatted to some workers who were like seriusly - best cure for a hangover is to get in thwe water and im like yea but il throw up! and they said awesome - at least thatl attract some cool fish!!! So i went for it - and jumped in and snorkelled!! And they were right...felt so so so so much better!! Saw some AMAZINGLY awesome stuff it was so pretty - THE GREAT BARRIER REEF, TICK!! Was so fun!! Swimming about with my dooner lol. So after a nice lil explore and try to ead back to the boat, swim head first into the side of it cos i got disctracted by fish under the boat get a HUGE bump on my head, and as soon as i got up out the water - straight back to the toilet again, LOVELY!! Had all the crew feeling very sorry for me though...i did look like death warmed up...not pretty! Tried to get some food in me...which mader me feel a little better now and then we got to the second location...i was feeling A LITTLE better so we went on guided snorkelling this time, and it was amazing!! I picked up sea cucumbers and lots of stuff, saw cool fish - and saw all around some truely incredible coral and massive clams that you could swim down to and it would nearly snap you up!! So cool!! Came back up, messed about with the crew how were now at the taking the piss stage of my hangover it was a good giggle until everyone was offered wine and cheese. I stoced up on cheese, the cre came over with wine whic i proceeded to throw in there face!!! NOT APPRECIATED!!!! Had a really pretty sail back home and then back to homeland cairns!! Made us both so excietd to get back into travel mode, so we were very excited for the coast!! woooooooooooooooooo! In the evening we went out for dinner with Katie and Simone and quiet drinks at blue sky...(for our second to last night) which was random, as we went to blue sky on our 2nd ever night in cairns!! Everyone drank wine...i had apple juice, and then fell asleep. in the pub. on my chair. shocking. What a day!

Tuesday Was our last full day and last night out in Cairns ;(
So in the day we were both running around like mad woman doing everything and everything - ws like preparing to leave home again it was weird. packingup our rooms - saying goodbyes to people who coildnt come tonight etc..... was uber stressful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After finally doign everything..we had booked a table at a mexican restaurant and kareoke Bar which eevryone came too!! Was lots of fun, and nice to have everyone there! We had loooooooooooooooooooads of food - we both got pressies!! and everyone wrote in our journals...then we hit kareoke! Well eeveryone was suppsoed to be me and sian totally took over like we do hehe, and then me and adam did a wonderful rendition of a whole new world....which i wanted to sign with kiff!! cos hes amazing!! lol Anyways- after that me and sian went sepate ways, i went to my work and she went to hers....i went to say all my goodbyes!! Got free drinks off my pauly I LOVE PAULY!! and said bye to all the glassys...and mike!! oh mike!! Was so sad, got them to writ ei my books too. Said my goodbyes to Talon too . Was all abit sureal. So eventually dragged myself away....backing out of the club taking everythign and everyone in, creid my eyes out!! Then made my way to rhino to meet sian and partied there, with lots of random party games...being bombarded with toga's by pete, Kiff mc'ing, dancing with baz, was all HILARIOUS...but so sad. Lovely last night....I love you Gilligans!!

Wednesday!

I started with some errands, and sorting out the final pazking...how everything fit in my bag i so not know!!!! In the eve we all had our last captain cooks meal, got everybody to write in my journal....and said our goodbyes at our housesmates....First massive goodbye was to katie, who when she walekd off i cried my eyes out. Then we got all our stuff together and said byes to Simone, Karen, Barry and Kirsty. I managed to kind of keep myself...got to the other side of the taxi to get in, then bawled!!!!

All the way to the bus station I was crying my eyes out, looking out the windows on the way to get my last look at everything, the pier, the town - and most importantly my gilligans!! Was horrible, jumped on the bus for the first time in months and months....got my teddy bear out and practically cried myself to sleep......was so hard leaving there!!!!!!! I love that place, and all the people in it.

Gilligans mainly made that place for me....all the friends i made, and the skills i learned too. I am now officially a super skilled far to over excited barmaid who RAKES in tips! I love all the managers - got on with them all so well towards the end, and they were all so sweet to me around the whole eye thing (apart from the jokes...not cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hehe). Il miss Karin and Karen the most form the bar ladies, absolute gems.

From the flat, Simone, Katie and Leanne. Absolute legends. There are no words to describe how much i lvoe you guys!!

Then everyone else, the rest of sleepign with the enemy and work, and the global palace mentalists lol, it has been insanly amazingly tremdously SUPERB!! Out of this world, and all togther, one big messy drinking amazment!!!

All in all though.........Cairns has been one hell of a ride, i have had so many ups and downs, probably some of the best highs of my life, as well as the lowest. But I wouldnt change any of it for thr world...even the eye disaster.....im sure its made me a better person in some way! I know for sure its made me stronger...and I'm reallt proud I got through it, i no im very much still in it (hehe) but yea, im doing good!!

CAIRNS I LOVE YOU, and I cannot wait to literally see every single person i met there in Sydney....and create some more boys madness.....hahahahahha!

Most and foremost though, I will miss work, karin, leanne, Karin, Katie and Simone the most - you are all absolute stars and i love you all to bits and cant wait to party it up with you all in SYDNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
