I've been in Waimate for a little over a week. It has been pretty quiet. For around four hours each day I work doing odd jobs and weeding. Warren Wilson accepted me into class of 2018! I am very excited to be attending my first choice school, yay! The first Saturday I was here we went to the strawberry festival to watch Shanna's Scottish dancing! They were fantastic. I'll post the video! Last Thursday I was "crook" as they say here, sicker than I have ever been! I ended up in the ER for dehydration Friday night. But I made a speedy recovery soon after that. Yesterday evening the family and I went out caroling. I played violin to try and help the pitch. Its beginning to feel a little bit more like Christmas here. For the longest time Christmas wasn't even mentioned. The kids weren't excited, very few presents under the tree and no baking had been done. Christmas isn't as big of a deal as it is in the states. We have a tree up but not everyone even decorates, it's sad! Lol I appreciate our commercialized Christmas, it's way more fun!!! But the grandparents have arrived and I made the rum balls this evening so things are looking up! Ami and I went raspberry picking today and had so much fun! We convinced the people to let us pick our own! The ones that they had picked weren't to our standards. Then we went to the pool for a bit. That's the update for now! Happy Holidays!!! Xoxox
