At 8am we met up with our intrepid tour group. Our tour guide called Casey Cagle is a real life cowboy. The group is a lot smaller than we expected and they all seemed really lovely. An aussie called Jess another called Hing, Mette from Denmark and John from Wales. What a team! WUSDA.

We then boarded the hound dog, our van which pretty much became our home. Our first journey was towards Joshua Park. Filled with Joshua trees, the strangest shapes which look like people dancing and huge flintstone like boulders everywhere. Had a picnic then walked around the Hidden Valley Trail. It's really surreal looking but beautiful. Seen a chipmunk and some rock climbers. Done a bit of scrambling over the rocks ourselves before returning to the van and heading to Laughlin. As Casey had said to us, "The journey is as important as the destination", we done alot of travelling but it was a proper road trip and the sights we took in getting from place to place were epic. The drive through the desert looked like something from the movies, with long stretches of road and barron land ahead.

We get to the hotel about 7pm and it's dark. Laughlin is like a mini vegas. Apparently the older crowd flock here as it's not quite as crazy as the real deal. Our hotel is ridiculous - The Golden Nugget (The real one is in Vegas, this is a scaled down copy). An archway of lights leads us in. Once inside there's a forest paradise and a waterfall. Elaborate hotel decor if ever I've seen any. There's a manquin playing a piano. Rooms awesome with big bulb lights around the mirror. Meet the team for dinner. Enjoyable. It's so lucky we all got on so well, ever one was up for the banter. Hit the sack, early starts all round.
