A later start following yesterday's marathon trip. Only 90 Kms today but we did go over the Barachala pass which at nearly 5 Kms high is a bit of challenge. The motorbikes start to lose power because of the altitude so you have to sort of coax them up the last bit. We did have fun helping the support jeep up some of the steeper slopes, see picture. We were only allowed to stay up there for a short time as the altitude gets to some people. We actually have 2 people on drips who were suffering and still are as we're camping at 4,400 metres. A common symptom of Altitude Sickness is headache which I've got, thank god for paracetemol and beer. The campsite is at Sarchu and is quite posh, I'll try and remember to include a phot. As we're at quite an altitude it's getting really cold as the sun goes down. We're all in 2 or 3 layers and trying to sit outside with beers. Looking forward to tomorrow.
