After camping overnight we retired to Leh, back over the Khardung-la. It was the previous day in reverse so not much to say. Wed 29th Jun - we now start our track back our final destination. We'll essentially be reversing the route we did over days 2-5 but we'll be doing it in 2 days (half the time). Unfortunately this means a 5.30 start for a 7.00 set off. We're heading off to a campsite in Sarchu, about 160 miles. Doesn't sound much but progress through sand, Gravel, mud etc means we finish about 6.30. The weather has turned from bright sun to overcast and we even saw a little snow shower - camping in the cold is overrated ! The worry we have is that we have to go higher tomorrow to get to our final destination, Manali. Fingers crossed.
