Hi Everyone, Sorry that it's been awhile since my last post, I was sick the past few days, but today I am starting to feel better. Other than my illness, I am having a great time thus far in India and I am learning a ton. It's a very different world here. The first day I got here we went straight from the airport (after a 24 hr+ trip) to a tour of the city of Hyderabad. The picture I attached is me on top of the Charminar which is the central part of the city. After Charminar we visited a temple and a mosque, well I couldn't go into the mosque because woman were not allowed, but the Hindu temple was very beautiful, all made out of marble and very intricate. To conclude the day we climbed 365 stairs to the top of Golconda Fort. The view from up there was amazing, you could see how vast the city really is. Hyderabad is India's 6th largest city and has roughly 4 million people, this is about the number of people in LA, however the population density is only 3K per km^2 in LA and it is 21K per km^2 in Hyderabad. (see I told you I am learning a lot !) This density is apparent everywhere we go, from the roads to the markets. The amazing thing is we have not seen one accident ! But we did see 6 people riding on one motor scooter :-p Tomorrow we are going to a rural village/market and then to Ramoji Film City. And then this weekend a group of us are taking a weekend trip to Jaipur and Agra where the Taj Mahal is located. I'm really excited for the upcoming days, will post early next week to tell you all about it !
