Goodbye Spain..we´ll be back

It is our last day in Madrid and we are headed to Portugal overnight by bus. We had some difficulty finding trains to Portugal and the flights we found were too expensive so we have decided the bus is the way it is. By morning we should hopefully be in Lisbon and on to some warmer weather as it has been very cool and wet here.

We spent last night in a place called the Cat´s Hostel here. Pretty nice place with a neat bar and we listened to a Spanish band, like I said in our last blog. We met a lot of people there, some Americans, a so-called Canadian who had an Irish accent (he was really wasterd and obnoxious, I think he got kicked out of the hostel), some people from France, Australia and Brazil. The two Brazilians we met stayed in our room and one of them was an amazing drawer. He drew us both pictures late last night and gave them to us to keep, and he was the nicest guy. He stayed in Canada a couple years ago and liked it alot and is gonna come back, so we gave him our emails and if hes in Toronto well meet up again hopefully.

We went out last night with some Australians who were nice but werent our kinda people as they were into certain substances that I will leave unmentioned lol but Im sure you could guess.

We both thought that there were fewer people here in Spain that could speak English than originally thought, but it seems that the more you try to speak Spanish to them, the more their English seems to surface.

We went to the Royal Palace in Madrid today with Leigh, our new Canadian friend. The palace was beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, but unfortunately they woudnt allow us to take pictures inside (sorry mom lol). Its funny cause it got me thinking that if some of they Kings and Queens everywhere spent just some of the money invested in the palaces and their things on other things, maybe life would be a little bit better for those less fortunate. But as we all know thats life, and sometimes it isnt fair, oh well.

Leigh is a really cool guy, he watches all the same movies as us and likes to quote them with us, so we all get along pretty well. Hes a bit younger than us but I think he would fit in quite well with the guys at home if he were ever to be in Toronto.

So on to Lisbon in a few hours and hopefully when we wake up it will be sunny and warm. Were staying there for 4 days and then maybe renting a car and driving down the coast to Lagos or somewhere in the Algarve.

p.s yes adrian they have north american movies here. In case you didnt know they also have mcdonalds and kfc. But i guess you thought they just rode horses

and didnt have telephones over here hahaha just joshin, I know ya know they do.
