Hi Everyone. Again. Not much has happened in the last couple of days. Except I walked a combined totalof 15km to get from our hostel in Taupo to the Volcanic Activity Centre just outside the town. It was an excellent exhibit of the country's volcanism. Then we headed into Tongariro National Park towards River Valley and both were a total wash out. I only got one glimpse of the 3 volcanic cones of Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro and that was of their snow caps on the way into Taupo.
So we headed for the capital of Wellington whilst watching Mel Gibson as William Wallace lead the Scots to independence from England. Wellington is a very cool and cultural city with cafes, restaurants and theatres. I have just returned from Te Papa Tongarewa, which is NZ's best museum with many innovative features and 5 different levels. That is the best museum I have visited overall and for its innovation.
Tomorrow I will head onto a ferry from Wellington and leave the North Island and say hello to the South Island. Bring it on!
