Jambo from Moshi, Tanzania! For anyone who also played the classic game of Where in the World in Carmen San Diego as a child you will know that Dar Es Salaam was one of her stops around the world... touching down in Africa was an awesome feeling! So good to be back, even if Alice was technically in Tanzania before me (very mature game of being the first to touch 'real' part of the country).

Leaving Dar on the flashest bus that must exist in Africa - complete with seatbelts and air con we headed to Arusha. Alice and I tried to learn some swahili with 2 cute kids on the bus, although I think they found our kiwi accents pretty hard to understand in the first place let alone our swahili attempts!

After my first proper sleep since leaving Auckland (proper meaning being woken up by raging music outside at 3am instead of 11pm) we got our first glimpse of Kilimanjaro looking out of the window of Mum's room. What an awesome sight!!! Slightly, intimidating but its actually a proper 'mountain shape' so looks more impressive than Mt Kenya.

So we are now off to find a company to climb with - hopefully next time I write we will have been up the biggest mountain in Africa!!!
