So Burundi looks nothing like this picture... in fact if you took all the water from the river in the picture and poured it out of the sky in bucket loads you would have a more accurate picture...

But felt I had to give an update from Bujumbura as it is very likely, not sure why, that I won't be coming back here.

As for my plans of going overland into Tanzania... well, glad you asked. It turns out that the roads close at 4pm because of the likelyhood of ambushes. You can take a bus but the vehicles are meant to travel in a convoy... so anyway, I got freaked out and am now flying back to Nairobi on Sunday to enjoy fruit salad once again.

Because I blew my budget (times about a hundred) by flying I think I will just hang out in Nairobi, live off fruit salad and the awesome fudge chocolate (suprisingly cheap and nice at the same time) and plan my next two adventures. 1 - Meeting up with my sis in Amsterdam and 2 - Europe cycling trip, hello huge thighs!

I could of course hang out in Burundi, where it rains everyday and where the streets are dead by about 7pm because of the 'petit bandits' that come out... tempting, but no, thankyou!
