Day 41 Monday 4 Mercadoiro to Hospital da Cruz 16-17 km. 300 up 400 down. Rain overcast 10 minutes sun Another great walk. Much of it in light rain. Beautiful forests and rich green farmland. Lots of large farming operations. Lou and Tawna disgusted with the smell. IMHO the larger the operation often the less the smell. Hard to make hay in Galicia so lots of silage and baleage. Day 40 Sunday 3 Sarria to metcadoiro. Some light rain. Mostly over cast. Lovely walk today. Much like yesterday. A bit distracted with news from NewZealand. Hope to hear something soon. Day 39 Saturday 2 Triacastela to Sarria 18.2 km 355 up 585down Overcast all day. Misty in the morning but very pretty walking through the mossy roadsides and trees growing over making beautiful green tunnels. There was some mud and water on the track but no rain. Day 38 Friday 1st June 17.5 km 355 up 585 down. Rain for first 4 hours. High 16 low 9 Left at 7:40 after a doughnut peach for breakfast. Walked off in the rain. Very poor visibility but no wind. The plastic poncho did a grand job. My synthetic walking shirt got wet but dried quickly. We had breakfasts couple of ks along the road.
