Just got back from Fraser Island, it was so cool, we had 2 days and 1 night there. We were escorted around the island in a 4x4 coach, never seen one before, very weird offroading on a coach!! We started our first day (very hot!!) walking around the rainforest which had a creek running through it. We then headed along the 75 Mile beach (in the coach!!) and headed to Indian Head, which was a great lookout point, we had to climb huge cliffs (in flip-flops) quite dangerous really! Next we went to see 'Maheno' ship wreck - fascinating and then the day was finished off at Eli Creek where we had a dip.
We stayed in a really nice resort which made a change from staying in a hostel, all meals were included on this trip, so we filled ourselves up!! That night we had a few drinks at the beach bar and chatted to some people we had met during the day.
Second day, up at 7am for our free brekkie and then went to 'Lake Wabby', to get there we had to trek through a desert for about 40 minutes, luckily it wasn't as hot as the day before! We arrived at the lake, the sand basically dropped into the lake. We have pics which we will upload soon. In the afternnon we went to 'Lake McKenzie' which was gorgeous (see pic) here we just chilled and took in the view, the water was so clear and blue - breathtaking, not what you would expect to find on a sand island.
Catching the coach tonight and off to Airlie Beach, catch up soon xx
