Hey all :)
So it's been bloody ages since I did this haha... so I'll summarise the last few weeks! Start of August I went to Fraser Island for 3 days, it's the world's largest sand island and it is incredibly beautiful... being driven across the beach was crazy, looking out the car window to see the waves rolling in - unbeatable! The weather was beautiful too so we could enjoy all the gorgeous lakes we went to, including one called Lake Wabby, and you walk across a massive sandblow to get there and it just appears in a dip in the sand, amazing! Saw heaps of whales, dingoes and eagles - and thankfully not a single spider! :D We also went to the famous Lake Mackenzie, and climbed to the top of the Indian Head lookout!
After Fraser I worked my way further up the coast to Airilie Beach to start my 2day/2night Whitsundays sailing trip - the boat was pretty big and relaxing considering there were only 15 of us on there! Unfortunately when we went to see Whitehaven Beach (the one in the photo on this update) it had been raining all night and was still raining then so we never really got to feel the soft sands or experience it's true beauty - but you can't control the weather! We still waded into the water and watched as stingrays swam around our feet and past our legs, that was amazing! And the final day was beautiful and sunny so just sunbathed on the boat, then the lagoon when we got back!
After Airlie we went up to Magnetic Island... which is like a proper holiday spot, even though you were still in a dorm room when you stepped off the bar onto the beach or laid by the pool it felt like you were on a luxury holiday - nice break from being busy, just being able to relax for 3 straight days laying on a beach!
Now I'm in Mission Beach 'til tomorrow, and yesterday I did the most amazing, scary thing so far - I skydived from 14000ft and landed on the beach here :)
Off to Cairns tomorrow for 3 nights and doing a reef cruise and dive there, should be fun :D then heading back down the coast to Rainbow Beach to work for a month before NZ!
